About Me
Welcome! I’m Naomi Winkelman, an experienced educator and curriculum leader with over sixteen years of teaching in both international and U.S. public schools. I specialize in social studies instruction, academic support, and inquiry-based learning grounded in equity and global citizenship.
I currently teach at a high school in Washington, D.C., where I lead our D.C. History team and co-teach inclusive classes that support students with IEPs and English learners. I hold a Master of Arts in American History and will complete a second Master of Education degree in Advanced Teaching in August 2025.
My work is rooted in the belief that all students deserve access to meaningful, rigorous education that reflects their identities and prepares them for a complex world. I also serve as a Rainbow History Project tour guide for WorldPride 2025 and have contributed to D.C. social studies curriculum development through several competitive fellowships.
This site serves as a digital portfolio highlighting my teaching philosophy, curriculum leadership, and commitment to student success. Thank you for visiting!
